Jose Ignacio "Nacho"  Villanueva
Jose Villanueva, 62, of Columbus Junction, passed away Saturday June 6, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Cremation rites will be facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center, located within Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will be at a later date. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 4:00- 7:00 p.m. at the Stacey-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Jose’s name. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Jose Villanueva was born January 1, 1953, in Del Rio, Texas the son of Isabel Villanueva and Elida (Lopez) Moreno. In December of 1971 Jose was united in marriage to Omega Terrones in Del Rio, Texas. Jose was an auto repair mechanic. Jose enjoyed dancing, cook out parties, avid Dallas Cowboys fan, coaching slow pitch baseball, billiards pool league and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Jose will be deeply missed by his wife, Omega Villanueva; four daughters, Patricia Villanueva (Alejandro Ledezma), Leticia Villanueva, Jennifer Ayala (Armando) and Ana Maria Madriz (Sergio); six grandchildren, Jose Rojas, Patricia Rojas, Alejandro J. Ledezma, Omega Valdez, Vanessa Ayala and Armando Jr. Ayala; one great-grandchild, Savannah Madriz all of Columbus Junction; seven siblings, Juan Manuel Villanueva, Rey Villanueva, Victor Salinas, Mercy Fuentes, Frankie Villanueva, Alfonso Villanueva and Isabel Kristinger.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, grandfather, Catarino Lopez and uncle, Manuel Lopez.
