Obituary for Mary Joan Moore (Hart)

Mary Joan Moore, 81, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals. Cremation rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center, located within Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. No services will take place, inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Alzheimers Association in Mary’s name. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Mary’s family and the arrangements.

Mary Joan Hart was born on August 31, 1933 in Muscatine, the daughter of James and Mary Faith (Dusenberry) Hart. On October 30, 1954, Mary was united in marriage to Lyle I. Moore in Washington, Iowa. Mary was a part of the Moose and the Elks. She enjoyed traveling and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Mary will be missed by her two sons, Kevin Moore (Sandi) of Davenport and Cameron Moore (Lila) of Mahomet, Illinois, two sisters, Mildred Moore of Muscatine and Ruth Ann Phillips of Wilton.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, James Hart and William Hart, and two sisters, Marian Bayer and Leone Freeman.
