Obituary for Donald Lawrence Morgan
Donald L. Morgan, 87, of Muscatine passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Trinity Hospital in Rock Island. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Alex Kindred officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.
Donald Lawrence Morgan was born on December 25, 1927 in Nichols, Iowa, the son of Laurence and Lorena (Dennis) Morgan. On February 15, 1946, Donald was united in marriage to Frances Bernice Martin in Muscatine. He owned and operated Morgan Trucking Company, Morgan Enterprises, Incorporated. Also drove and owned Dirt track race car #31. Donald was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Daytona 500.
Donald will be deeply missed by his four children, Janice Noll and husband, Richard of Letts, Douglas Morgan and wife, Kathleen, Michael Morgan and wife, Katherine and Dennis Morgan and wife, Sherry all of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren; Gregory Noll, Brian Morgan, Laura Bushell, Karra Morgan, Sara Morgan, Jody Morgan, Amy Baker, Ashley Morgan, Tina Green and Tricia Bedendender; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Kennedy of Illinois City, IL; two sister-in-laws, Pauline Morgan and Virginia Wilson both of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Max Morgan and Leland Morgan and one sister, Vera Metzger.
