Gordon Albert "Al"  Weese
G. Albert Weese, 90, of Muscatine, formerly of Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his home. Visitation for Al will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015, at the funeral home. Immediately following services at the funeral home, military rites will be provided by the combined units of the V.F.W. Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27. Inurnment will be in Mount Olive Penn Township Cemetery at a later date. Cremation Rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center located within Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army in Al’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Gordon Albert Weese was born on February 8, 1925, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Gordon Arville and Barbara (Ainslee) Weese. On February 28, 1953, Al was united in marriage to Eleanor Hope McElfresh in Columbus, Ohio. He had proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Al was a licensed professional engineer for the Ohio Department of Transportation, working as the director of Planning and Programming, retiring after 42 years. He was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church in Upper Arlington, Ohio and also attended Calvary Church in Muscatine and the Alpha and Omega Group. Al enjoyed sports, golfing, senior softball, bowling, power volleyball, square dancing and playing bridge. He inspired many to do their very best and to achieve the goals they set.

Al will be deeply missed by his wife, Hope of Muscatine; children, Jan (Tim) Debold of Muscatine, Jim (Penny) Weese of Prescott Valley, AZ and Barbara Niehoff of Vacaville, CA; 5 grandchildren, John (Liz) Debold, Jessica Debold, Andy (Rochelle) Niehoff, Kyle Niehoff and Sarah (Zach) Adams; and five great-grandchild, Zoe Niehoff, Gideon Debold, Emily Debold, Jaelynn Adams and Skyler Adams.

Al was preceded in death by his parents and one child in infancy, Catherine.
