Condolences

Condolence From: Doug & Roxanne Johnson
Condolence: Yocum family -
We wish to express our sincere condolences in your loss. Lucy was always a gentle, generous woman. As youth leaders, we knew she was praying tirelessly for the young people of Walnut Park. She hosted many slumber parties for the girls that we're sure will remain a fond memory for them. Our daughter always came home from those parties sharing wonderful stories Lucy had told them. Those stories were full of humor, but also full of God-lessons Lucy had learned along the way. We so appreciate the friend she was to us and the godly influence she had on our children. She will be deeply missed.

Condolence: Wayne, Phil & DeeAnn,
So sorry for your loss of your mom. I will always remember your mom & dad as we were growing up in the 50s & 60s. Your dad introduced such wonderful wit and humor that drew me and your mom had the sweetest smile in response. I think of your family often especially Phil as we were in the same age group. Hope you are well.

Until we see them again,
Cherie Holtz

Condolence: To Lucy's family -

I am deeply sorry to hear of Lucy's passing. I grew up seeing her every Sunday at Walnut Park Baptist Church. She always had a smile and a greeting and wanted to know what had happened in your life over the past week. She was always one of the older ladies I considered special. As I went to college, I didn't get to see her as much, except for when I went home. I ALWAYS made sure to get my hug from Lucy! One of my favorite times that I remember was a time I was home over Christmas and my mom had me take Lucy her dinner, as the ladies from church were currently taking her food, I think because of a hip replacement. At first, Lucy didn't recognize me, but then as soon as she realized who I was, she had me (and two friends who had come to help) sit down at her kitchen table. I heated up her food for her and she started talking! She told us the whole story about how she met her husband Larry. She was the best storyteller ever! I didn't want to leave, I just wanted her to keep telling stories! She was an amazing woman and I am grateful she has moved on to a better place, but she will be sincerely missed. I wish all of you the best during this difficult time.

Condolence From: Paul & Elva Crist
Condolence: Elva & I would like to express our deepest sympathy to Lucy's family. I remember as a small boy that Lucy and Larry would be workers at the 3-week long revival at the old Oakland School in Conesville. They were very faithful and Lucy has been very faithful to God since Larry passed on. I am told that when Larry's brother died at a very young age, my Mother thought he was a very godly boy and named me (Maynard) after him. Lucy is now receiving her reward form her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What a glorious time to celebrate her life and legacy.
